The Developer Client already had planning permission for an industrial building on this site.  He approached Shape Architecture to design and secure permission for a larger building with an extra floor and no onsite parking, in order to maximise the potential of the site.  The project is located in the London Borough of Wandsworth. 
 

Shape Architecture was successful in obtaining this planning permission with an extra floor and no on-site car parking, primarily through the strength of the architecture, which gained support from the Planning Authority.

The project is conceived as a robust building with an elegant over sailing roof.  It is formed in a series of horizontal cladding and glazing systems.  Glass fronted circulation cores provide interest and activity to the facade, behind which sit a series of stairs and colourful goods and passenger lifts providing access to various workshops and studios.
