This small project demonstrates how a simple rear addition and internal refurbishment can vastly improve a 1950s terraced house in Balham, South London.  A single storey extension creates a new kitchen dining space, utility area and enlarged living space.  Sliding folding doors open onto and create a better connection with a rear terrace and reconfigured garden.
