This competition study looked at the creation large scale urban routes through Dover.  A route was created that followed the existing topography and in a number of instances became raised in order that Dover could be experienced from a different viewpoint.  Along the route a number of sculptural forms were set that acted as exhibitions and information points.  A lift from the beach to the castle was also suggested that would allow further views across the countryside and coast and also link two of the key elements within Dover, whilst providing an insight into the various other quarters of Dover.

This competition study looked at technologies to achieve a zero carbon house and how this would impact upon the architecture of a mass produced housing project.  Off Site panels were employed that determined the northerly oriented façade.  To the south a greater amount of glazing brings more light into the scheme and re-enforces contact with the landscape.  An internal garden brings further light into the heart of the house that is re-enforced with shafts of light from rooflights set in the sedum roof.  Home office spaces are provides and facilities for Lifetime Living are integrated into the building.  The project was Highly Commended.
