The first Ecoshed located in Hammersmith is located in a secluded site at the rear of Loris Gardens. As a sustainable building it touches the ground lightly through a beam and post structure and features a Sedum roof and timber cladding. Much of the interior uses second hand components such as a series of doors that have been adapted as seats and dividers, recycled flooring and recycled sink.
Once EcoShed 01 was completed Shape Architecture was contacted by the Community Organisation client to design EcoShed 02 in a nearby park in Hammersmith. This project is also featured on our website. Whilst following a similar sustainable brief a distinct difference is that the Eco roof is formed as a rubble roof from onsite excavation for foundations
