London Planning Permissions
In the last few weeks Shape Architecture has been granted four planning permissions across London. These are in Kensington and Chelsea, two in Westminster and one in Ealing.
Each project is in a Conservation Area and each serves to transform the property. We gained planning permission for each at our first attempt.
In Kensington the project is a Mews house where we have gained planning permission to co-opt the internal garage into habitable space alongside changes to the facade.
The first of the two Westminster projects is also the creation of a habitable space from an internal garage. This time in Eaton Mews in Belgravia. The second Westminster project is in Westbourne Park Villas and sees the extension and total refurbishment of an elegant villa built in 1947.
Our planning permission in Ealing sees the addition of a two storey extension to an interesting house in the Hanger Hill (Haymills) Estate Conservation Area
Kensington Planning Permission
Here we have gained planning permission to co-opt the garage as a habitable space. As can be seen from the floor plans this transforms the layout of the ground floor and creates a far larger and more contemporary interior. The planning authority accepted the loss of a car parking space. From what was really one room plus garage, our clients now have a large kitchen and better designed utility room alongside the addition of a WC. A new glazed lobby is also introduced providing a buffer between the inside and outside. Dining and sitting spaces are also much improved. Our earlier project at Adam and Eve Mews in Kensington is similar albeit with works throughout and the addition of both basement and roof terrace.
If you have a Mews property in Kensington or elsewhere in London and would like to consider what development opportunities there are, please feel free to contact us at Shape Architecture.
