    Fulham Extensions and Roof Terrace

Shape Architecture has a number of extension projects in Fulham at various stages on site at present. Here we review one that is nearing completion and one that has just started.

Side Extension, Loft Conversion and Roof Terrace

Our project at Elbe Street in Fulham is nearing completion.  With a variety of extensions and full refurbishment to a terraced house all has gone well.  We have been working with a Contractor with whom we have built many projects over the last fifteen years and this has helped a great deal.   At ground floor we have added a side infill extension and this has allowed the formation of a large and contemporary kitchen and dining room.  A rear extension was not considered necessary and would have compromised a small rear garden. A large opening was formed in the rear elevation for a glazed sliding door assembly which alongside a series of roof lights in the side extension serve to flood the interior with light and create a sense of space with a far improved visual and physical connection between the interior and the garden beyond.

    Loft Conversion and Roof Terrace

The loft is also converted and a dormer added.  This allows the addition of a bedroom and bathroom which is quite typical.  In addition a roof terrace has been created into the roof zone of the existing outrigger. The roof terrace is a very good size and given that the existing garden is quite small it is a very welcome additional amenity space.

Transformation of a Fulham Terraced House

The additional space, improved flow between the spaces, alongside a range of glazing and roof lights coupled with the addition of a roof terrace have transformed this typical terraced house

Rear extension in Peterborough Road in Fulham

Our latest Fulham rear extension has been on site for several weeks now.   The house had not been touched for decades and was very poorly planned at ground floor with a series of small rooms and little or no connection between the inside and outside.

A series of  proposals were developed in 3D that focused on a variety of roof light designs for discussion with our Client.   The images illustrated the impact of each roof light both from within the space and also external views.

The series of small rooms will now be replaced with a large contemporary and light filled kitchen and dining space  with easy access to the garden.

If you would like to discuss the addition of an extension or roof terrace please feel free to contact us at Shape Architecture.  We would be happy to discuss your project with you.
