• St. Dionis Road, Fulham, London

Shape Architecture has gained planning permission for a side return extension and pod room alongside extensive internal refurbishment for a property in St. Dionis Road in Fulham.  As architects in Fulham, Shape architecture has completed and continues to work on many residential projects of all scales, from large basement and whole house conversions to the smaller side and rear extension such as at St Dionis Road.

Here the side return has been extended into, which creates a much enlarged kitchen and dining space and allows a greater connection between the interior and the garden.  In addition a secluded study space is also formed.

At the upper level a pod room has been created in the existing roof form, which houses a new enlarged family bathroom with excellent views over the garden and beyond.

Additional internal work has also seen both the opening up of spaces and the formation of new rooms.

Shape Architecture has completed many such smaller conversion projects ranging from Inverness Terrace, Westminster, where the extension to a Grade 2 listed apartment created a new bedroom and bathroom, to other similar extensions in Fulham, Wandsworth and Chiswick.  Each of these projects demonstrates how a limited intervention can add much wanted space and transform the interior, with added light and transparency and the ability to open up the house onto the garden.
