Shape Architecture’s latest mews project is about to start on site at Petersham Place in Kensington.

    Kensington Mews transformation

We have gained planning permission for the co-opting of the existing integral garage into habitable space.  The additional space this provides transforms the ground floor.  Planning permission for this property, set within a Conservation Area, was gained at the first attempt.   What was previously a compact floor plan with a cramped kitchen is now much improved with an extensive kitchen and a sense of space and contemporary design.  A utility room and WC have also been added.

Projects of this nature require a careful understanding of planning policy, the sensitivities of conservation areas and the character of Kensington’s mews properties. Our experience of working within the borough enables us to develop proposals that maximise space while remaining respectful of their setting. By combining considered architectural intervention with detailed design and clear communication, we help our clients unlock the full potential of their homes in a measured and assured way.

If you have a mews property you would like to transform please feel free to contact us. We would be happy to visit and discuss the possibilities.
