Loft Conversion in Lewisham
Shape Architecture has gained planning permission for a loft conversion in Lewisham. Our clients live in a top floor flat and needed more space. The loft conversion with dormer extension has added a further bedroom with en-suite. The additional space now means that our clients can stay in their home as it will now provide the accommodation they require. Small extensions serve to transform properties and are always worth considering.
The Design Process
Shape Architecture uses 3D computer models on all our projects no matter what size or type. This commitment to clear communication and to ensure the potential of each project is fully realised saw us making a series of computer images for our clients to better explain the various design options. These were presented as a Design Proposals Brochure which in addition to 3D images included a series of 2D plans and descriptions of each design. Once our clients have had a chance to review the design proposals we then visit and discuss our clients thoughts. This is always a productive meeting out of which a preferred design is arrived at.
Planning Application
Following this the planning application set is worked up by Shape Architecture and the planning application is submitted by ourselves on our clients behalf.
The planning submission includes survey drawings, a site location plan and an existing block plan plus all the proposed plans, elevations, sections and a proposed block plan. Supporting this is a design and access statement and the completed CIL form. The information was uploaded via the Planning Portal and the online form filled out.
Once submitted and acting as our clients agent we receive notification by email from the Planning Portal that the application has been successfully uploaded and following this an email from the local planning authority confirming they have received the planning application. The local planning authority will then validate the application over a period of five to ten working days and once validated send a notice to ourselves stating the planning application reference, the case officer and the decision date. We then continue to liaise with the planners during the 8 week planning application period.
