Brunswick Terrace

Hove

Private Residential | Refurbishment

Shape Architecture continues to work on a wide range of listed buildings in Brighton and Hove and throughout London.

We have gained planning permission to create a light filled contemporary apartment at the prominent Brunswick Terrace on Hove seafront.

Our Client at Brunswick Terrace writes:

Jason is great! He helped us scope out our new home (which needs a ton of refurbishment) in Brighton by patiently going around and looking at potential houses with us. He helped us with legal questions and preliminary plans and gave us excellent advise recommendations. He was so very patient too, even with our often un-punctual estate agents and bad directions, he took it all in stride. He is a real pro and his work is exquisite, check out his website! I can’t recommend him highly enough, especially if you are in the market for a new home. He’s also very clear about his fees, etc, which is not always a given. Choose Shape Architecture, they are the best!

Internal layout redesign

Here two adjacent rooms have been formed into one dramatic space, from which a living, kitchen and dining room is created. This principle room now has great impact with the focus of Hove Lawns and the added benefit of light from the rear lightwell. As with many of our Listed building projects in Brighton and Hove, this project benefits from a well established process of discussion with the planning office and Heritage team via a pre-app submission, followed by a Listed Building application.

The addition of a WC in the Hallway and an En-Suite to a further bedroom, all contribute to a successful Listed Building Consent. In addition various elements of inappropriate development are being removed, to contribute to a project with great sense of its heritage value.
