At Shape Architecture we undertake many residential extensions in Brighton of all types and size. Very often a relatively small design change has a great impact and results in a far improved home. Our projects are characterised by light, bright contemporary interiors flooded with light and coupled with excellent visual and physical connections with the garden spaces beyond.
- Kitchen and Dining area at Rugby Road
This project at Rugby Road is typical of most peoples’ houses in that there was an underused side return and a mix of small rooms giving onto the garden but with no sense of connection between outside and inside. Our project adds a side infill extension, whilst maintaining garden access and opens up the interior space.
- Rugby Road
A feature window merges into a rooflight with a frameless glass to glass connection that connects to the planted wall at the side of the property. The roof is a green sedum roof and this absorbs up to 70 percent of the rainwater that falls upon it. The project is a great success and has transformed how our clients live in the space.
