What’s on the Drawing Board – Brighton
Currently in our office we have a range of projects in Brighton and Hove at various stages. The list reflects a variety of projects size and type and it is this diversity that we actively seek. In our nineteenth year as a chartered RIBA practice we are still led by our founding director, Jason Wren and we are still working on this broad range of projects throughout Brighton. Bringing our expertise and experience to every project. Be it a small extension, a complex listed building adaptation, an extension of any type, new build house or community project, we are here to help.
Upper Market Street, Listed Building, Brighton
This updating of a four storey Grade 2 listed house in Brighton sees the reworking of the interior and updating of a series of external features to create a contemporary home sympathetic to its listed status. The project is presently submitted for listed building consent.
New Steine, Listed Apartment, Brighton
This is another Grade 2 listed building project in Brighton. Smaller than Upper Market Street it nonetheless requires careful consideration. The proposal looks to open up the kitchen and dining rooms to one of the apartments and so create a contemporary home. The project is presently submitted for listed building consent.
Wilbury Road, 2 Storey Rear Extension, Hove
This Hove extension is a very interesting project. We have designed a two storey rear extension with roof terrace and extensive internal remodelling. Much time has been spent in composing the rear façade and considering the design of the glazing. The project has received a supportive Pre-App and is being worked up towards submitting a planning application.
Palmeira Avenue, Roof Terrace, Hove
We like this project a lot. It sees the creation of a small roof terrace to a top floor flat. The project has received a supportive Pre-App and is also being worked up.
Erroll Road, Extension and Refurbishment, Hove
About to start on site this project incorporates extensions and extensive internal remodelling to transform our clients home.
Norway Street, Small Rear Extension, Portslade
Also about to start on site. This is the smallest project in the practice at present. We nonetheless see its completion as really benefitting our clients’ needs and this is at the heart of how we work when we say we actively seek a diversity of project size and type.
Crown Gardens, Small Extension and Refurbishment, Brighton
Another small project to a very interesting small house near Brighton Station. Adding a porch to the front façade and re-modelling the interior. Planning permission has been granted and we are working up the detailed technical drawings at present.
Ship Street, Extension and Refurbishment, Brighton
A very interesting location and property. The project sees the connection of an existing vaulted basement to the ground floor above and the garden too. Also being explored is a re-working of the first floor and the additions of dormers to the loft level. The building context and the requirement to make the internal spaces flow better al add up to a project with much potential.
