Side, Rear and First Floor Extensions in Brighton

Following on from the success of our transformation of a terraced house in Rugby Road in Brighton, featured in the recent Royal Institute of Architects book ‘House Goals: Design with Architects Transform your Home’, we are working on a similar project nearby in Sandgate Road. Elegant detailing and materials are key. Glass to Glass frameless windows set within green sedum roofs are important features of the project.

Transforming Your Home

The property had a single storey structure at the rear in which the kitchen was located.   We gained planning permission to add another storey on top of this which gave space for a new bathroom.  At ground floor we largely rebuilt the structure to improve its thermal performance and install a new kitchen more suited to the space.

Summary

Two Storey Rear Extension

The success of this project is the way in which a small two storey extension is able to create a new kitchen at ground floor level and elegant bathroom at the first floor.

Guide to Extensions in Brighton

As noted with our extension at Erroll Road in Hove, extensions do not have to be large to make a difference.  Careful design in 2D and 3D exploring a number of options will ensure an efficient use of space.  Supported by years of experience in residential design.
