Brighton Extension and Roof Terrace
We are currently working on a rear extension and roof terrace project in the Preston Park area of Brighton, not far from our project completed in Rugby Road. Shape Architecture was chosen by our clients because of our range of experience of such projects in Brighton and the use of glass throughout our work in various forms, to create light filled and contemporary interiors. An important consideration also was our portfolio roof terrace projects of all types and size. The brief asked for a rear extension to create a large family kitchen and dining room with utility room and to the first floor a roof terrace.
Following our survey we produced a series of design proposals for our client in 2D and 3D to clearly communicate the designs. Once our client had a chance to digest these proposals we visited them at their home and went through each scheme. Taking on their comments we then updated the preferred option prior to submitting a planning application. Below we show images of the exterior and interior of the preferred option. The proposal is well composed and features a Crittall type glazed door and screen, a low profile rooflight and a roof terrace with glass balustrading.
