Garden Room Planning Permission in Hammersmith
Shape Architecture has been granted planning permission for a garden room in Hammersmith. This is not a simple single storey garden structure but a two storey garden room with a glazed link back to our clients flat, providing all weather access between the two spaces. We have been designing garden rooms for twenty years and this is the largest and the only one with such a glazed link.
A key aspect of the design and planning process was the design of the roof as many other properties overlook the site. Care was taken to design a series of green sedum roofs punctuated by a series of elegant roof lights. All internal spaces from the glazed link to the garden studios are flooded with daylight from these roof lights and a range of glazed screens and doors.
The success of the project is the development and award of planning permission for an original and creative response to the site that kept the spirit of the initial sketches. This is a welcome and distinctive addition to our portfolio of garden rooms.
