London Roof Terrace Design
Shape Architecture continues to expand its portfolio of Roof Terrace projects in London. We have just received the Pre App report for a roof terrace on the Harrow Road, which is supportive of our proposals.
Our roof terrace projects range from those to listed buildings such as at Florin Court in Westminster, to those to terraced houses such as at Danehurst Road in Fulham. All of these projects have followed the Pre-App route and subsequently gained planning permission at the first attempt.
The Pre-App process is valuable as it allows several designs to be submitted and valuable feedback received from the planners which will then inform the full application. The feedback will address the key sensitivities that relate to roof terraces which are overlooking, the means by which the terrace is accessed and the balustrade treatment.
London Roof Terrace Extension
The roof terrace design is to a flat in a modern block. We are proposing a low profile access rooflight as we have done at Woodsford Square before. This will diminish the impact of the roof terrace on the surrounding properties. As will setting the balustrade back on sensitive elevations.
