Shape Architecture has just been granted planning approval for this extension project in Brighton. We have added valuable additional space at first floor level and formed a more contemporary and elegant glazed elevation at ground floor level, which alongside internal remodelling helps transform the space and its relationship with the garden. The design was explored with a series of 3D models which were particularly useful in seeing how daylight penetrates the interior and the views that rooflights and windows offered.

The success of this project is in the extent of glazing which is introduced into the property at both ground and upper levels, ensuring that a light filled and contemporary interior is created with much improved views of the garden and beyond.
