Courtyard Office

Clapham

Commercial| Home Office

Shape Architecture was asked to look at designing a courtyard office in a tight back of house site for a developer client we often work with. The result is a striking and light filled space with a green sedum roof. A simple entrance through an existing garden wall gives onto a courtyard and the office space. The office is surrounded by perimeter raked glazing, large windows onto the courtyard garden and a series of rooflights. The building sits well in its garden setting and presents a green roof to all the properties that overlook it.

Guide to Garden Buildings

When building in a garden setting the specification of materials is important and should sit well on the site.  Given that these sites are very often overlooked the design and material finish of the roof is important.  The specification of a green roof works very well.
