Here in Fulham we have been granted planning permission to convert a house divided into two flats into a family home with the addition of a large basement and a variety of further extensions. The permission completely transforms the property into a light filled contemporary home.
Fulham Basement Extension

Often, and particularly so in this project, the integration of the basement extension with the rest of the house is achieved via the location and design of a feature staircase. These are often in the form of sculptured stairs, set within light filled voids, often with rooflights over and made simply and elegantly with a limited palette of high quality materials.

The success of this basement extension and whole house transformation is in the recreation of an extended family home with the large variety of spaces unified through the consistent, creative and elegant use of glass to flood the interior with natural light, providing numerous views and glimpses between spaces and breaking down the barrier between inside and outside. Allied to this is a feature stair connecting basement to ground floor with a run of glazing over the top bringing light into the heart of the basement. A very successful basement project. Our thirtieth.
