Putney

Commercial

Located on a prominent site in Putney our brief was to extend an existing small cafe to form a larger unit with a greater chance of commercial success.

The site is in an interesting location fronting Putney Cemetery. The proposal then follows the tight geometry of the site and prides a sense of transparency such that views through to the cemetery and its perimeter walls are maintained. The geometry is simple and striking as is the roof form.

Summary

Proposed Extension to a small restaurant in Putney

The success of this project proposal is in the addition of an elegant glazed and tapering extension that would add more space and table settings to the restaurant.

Guide to the use of glass and Transparency

The use of glass in architecture is tremendously important.   Transparency through the façade and between spaces should always be a part of a project.

Examples of the use of Glass

Our portfolio of projects illustrates the use of glass in very many ways and often it is the use of glass, the views created and the flood of light characterise our work.
